My philosophy about resolutions is to make a lot of them while also not beating myself up if I don’t achieve all (or even most) of them. I know I won’t do all of these things, but, since I’m a baseball fan, I kind of like that the best hitters fail seven out of 10 times at the plate. 

In no particular order:

  1. Engage in the arts twice a month (art museum, concert, play, etc.)
  2. Eat more fruits and vegetables
  3. Go camping at least twice
  4. Nurture my 2011 resolution to learn more about (and practice) photography
  5. Go deeper with my interest in the history of Negro League baseball
  6. Write more thank-you notes
  7. Restart podcasting
  8. Continue practicing various forms of Jesuit spirituality (particularly the daily examen)
  9. And one or two more that would take more explanation than I have time for
