My philosophy about resolutions is to make a lot of them while also not beating myself up if I don’t achieve all (or even most) of them. I know I won’t do all of these things, but, since I’m a baseball fan, I kind of like that the best hitters fail seven out of 10 times at the plate.
In no particular order:
- Engage in the arts twice a month (art museum, concert, play, etc.)
- Eat more fruits and vegetables
- Go camping at least twice
- Nurture my 2011 resolution to learn more about (and practice) photography
- Go deeper with my interest in the history of Negro League baseball
- Write more thank-you notes
- Restart podcasting
- Continue practicing various forms of Jesuit spirituality (particularly the daily examen)
- And one or two more that would take more explanation than I have time for
