We continue our sermon series on how the church has failed in the past as we look at its tendency to fall in love with itself rather than God. That can bring about a feeling of superiority and exclusion to the point where mission is watered down. The waters of baptism, however, can be a a great way for the church (and any follower of Jesus) to be reminded of how it must be in the world and relevant to people’s lives. This sermon is grounded in Mark 1:9-20.
