I recently changed cell-phone providers and I’m pleased with almost every aspect of the switch except one thing: My new carrier’s reception in the subway is non-existent. That, in turn, has thrown off my train-waiting rituals. I used to use that time to check various social-media outlets or email, but now, I just kind of stand there. Occasionally, I have a book with me, but I’m also considering this as an exercise in waiting, which isn’t always easy. Like waiting for a train, we are at an in-between moment today. We remembered and reflected deeply on the crucifixion of Jesus yesterday. We will celebrate resurrection tomorrow. Today? We wait. It’s  a great opportunity for us to practice our faith because so much of our lives in spent in between. We’re in between appointments or special occasions or jobs or relationships. We may focus a bit too much on what has passed and what’s in front of us to consider the in between. Use the in between to relate to God, as well. Today’s a great day to start.
